KCR ensures hassle free budget session!

By getting two of the Congress MLAs expelled and 11 others suspended from the state assembly for the rest of the session, Telangana Rashtra Samithi president and chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has ensured that there are no troubles for him in the presentation of his government’s last full-fledged budget for his present term.

KCR was aware that the Congress members would create a ruckus on the budget as he is planning to announce some populist schemes and make tall claims. They would naturally pull him for not implementing several of his promises.

If the Congress members are allowed to speak, it would fetch at least some political mileage to their party, which KCR does not want. Hence, he ensure that there is no opposition for him in the assembly.

At the same time, the TRS government is forced to reduce the tenure of the budget session to just 12 working days.

The budget is being presented on March 15 and the session is ending on March 27, as Governor E S L Narasimhan won’t be available after March 27. He is going to the US along with his family members on March 27. He will stay with his son in US for one month.

So, the finance bill has to get his approval before Narasimhan leaves on foreign trip. If the Congress MLAs are present in the House, there has to be full-fledged budget discussions on each demand and it would be impossible for the government to get the appropriation bill approved, if they stall the proceedings.

The Congress members, who participated in the Business Advisory Committee meeting strongly objected KCR's decision to reduce the session to avoid inconvenience to Governor.

However, with the government suspending them from the assembly for the entire session, it will be smooth sailing for KCR.
